By the time polls closed Monday, 5,018 people had voted at the 10 polling sites in the county, topping the record of 4,025 for the same period in 2023, said Dustin Czarny, the county’s Democratic elections commissioner.
The total through Monday far eclipsed the early turnout for local elections in 2021 (2,703) and 2019 (2,649), when New York state began offering the early voting option.
