Onondaga County Democratic Board of Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny said on X, formerly Twitter, that several other races in the county may be eligible for a hand count after absentees and affidavits are received. Hand counts would start after Thanksgiving and take about two weeks. “We had several different vendors come in and the Clear Ballot system wowed us,” Czarny said. “We thought it was great for our needs. It’s mobile… It’s a quick machine and it’s something that the voter’s experience is going to be really good at.”

As to the reason why more voters are getting out and voting early, Czarny says it’s something his department is pushing. “We’ve done a lot of push on making sure that people know that this is a valuable option, that it works and that it’s secure,” he said.
