“I’m really happy that we’re back at this. I couldn’t sleep at all last night because I just wanted to get back at this because we want this election in the bag so we can be done and start working for next year, because the work starts again right away,”
“Election professionals, this is what we live for, we want to get the count done. And we put our lives on hold to do that…. It’s better for us to take the time, get it done right, and have it be certified in a proper way.”
t’s not what Democratic Commissioner Dustin Czarny had in mind when counting first started.
“The system was working really well before we had to stop, we were like NASCAR drivers doing 100MPH and then we had to stop for a rain delay and now we’re back at it,” explained Czarny.
Democratic Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny says now everyone’s healthy and back to work.
“Election professionals live to get the count done. We were like NASCAR drivers on a rain delay. We were going at 100 miles per hour and then we had to stop abruptly and wait two weeks so we’re just ready to get back at it.”

“We can’t wait to get in here to get this done … We’ve also gotten agreement from the observers to limit themselves to one person from each party per table. New York State election law never envisioned a scenario like this …”
Today I talk about coming back to the office. The after math of our COVID 19 outbreak. And how we are going to restart the count on Monday. Also stay home for Thanksgiving and let’s fight this disease

Ballot counting will resume Nov. 30 …Participants also will be asked to wear face shields in addition to masks. They may have to get pre-tested for coronavirus.“We cannot have another delay,’’ Czarny said. “We have to get this count done.”
“We don’t know a lot of things going forward,” Czarny said. “We’re still dealing with the circumstances that are unprecedented, which seems to be the theme for 2020.”
I talk about the status of the COVID situation at the Board of Elections. The plan to resume absentee counting on Nov 30 and the coming winter and COVID on the rise in Onondaga County.
